    This blog ran from 2006 to 2016 and was intended as an objective and dispassionate source of information on the latest CAM research. Since my background is in pharmacy and allopathic medicine, I view all CAM as advancing through the development pipeline to eventually become integrated into mainstream medical practice. Some will succeed while others fail. But all are treated fairly here.

    Is there a relationship between omega-3 and childrens’ behavior?

    It’s suggested that omega-3 fatty acids might have an effect on disorders such as ADHD, autism, and dyslexia.

    Researchers from the University of Wales, in Newport, UK looked for an association between omega-3 tissue levels and learning and behavior in school-aged children. (more…)

    Sunflower therapy for dyslexia

    It seems to improve self-esteem but not cognition (eg, perception, memory, judgment, and reasoning) or literacy, according to a recent study of 70 dyslexic children aged 6 to 13 years.
