Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Fair, Balanced, and to the Point
  • About this web log

This blog ran from 2006 to 2016 and was intended as an objective and dispassionate source of information on the latest CAM research. Since my background is in pharmacy and allopathic medicine, I view all CAM as advancing through the development pipeline to eventually become integrated into mainstream medical practice. Some will succeed while others fail. But all are treated fairly here.

    Yoga for health

According to their website, the International Yoga Therapy Conference “is a forum that explores the specific and profound ways in which yoga can aid in maintaining good health or recovery from illness.”

This year’s meeting will be held at the Peacock Gap Country Club in San Rafael, California (about 30 minutes north of San Francisco) on May 18 to 20.

Todd Spencer writes, “Twenty-seven presenters ranging from medical researchers and academics to yoga practitioners will deliver talks including, ‘Yoga for Grief Relief,’ ‘Understanding Pain and Managing Chronic Pain,’ ‘Yoga for Dementia,’ ‘Yoga Therapy for Neck Pain,’ and ‘Yoga for People with Breast Cancer.’
