Consumer Alert: Drugs that “boost” libido

The FDA has told Nature & Health Co. to take its supplements, which are sold to treat impotence (erectile dysfunction), off the market.

Tainted drugs

  • LibieXtreme
  • Y-4ever
  • Libimax X Liquid
  • Powermania Liquid and Capsule
  • Herbal Disiac

Lab analysis of these products found they contain tadalafil (an active ingredient of an FDA-approved drug called Cialis for erectile dysfunction), aminotadalafil, or sildenafil (Viagra).

These products never received permission to contain these chemicals. There’s a risk that they might interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs such as nitroglycerin and lower blood pressure to dangerous levels.

If you have used them, stop, and contact your physician if you’ve experienced any side effects.
