Up to two-thirds of patients with MS use CAM.

First, the details.

  • This two-part study involved a questionnaire and interactive workshop.
  • Participants were attendees at a national Congress of the MS Trust in the UK.

Therapies rated by 25% to 40% of participants as “extremely helpful”…

  • Reflexology
  • Massage
  • Yoga
  • Relaxation
  • Meditation
  • Acupuncture
  • Aromatherapy

The bottom line?
Considering that these were attendees at a conference, it’s possible that the findings reflect CAM use by an atypical group of people.

However, it shows some of the more popular and “effective” optional treatment, at least according to these MS patients.
