Australia will initiate a National Institute for Complementary Medicine

With financial support from the Australian government, the institute will develop national priorities for complementary medical research and coordinate work on these priorities with other research bodies.

The institute will also support postdoctoral training to ensure that the CAM industry has the research personnel it needs to expand.

It’s shows that the growing level of interest in CAM among Australians — $1 billion annually — has caused their government to get involved.
