Consumer Alert: True Man and Energy Max

It’s business as usual. Market a product to enhance virility, illegally add Viagra, and sell it without a prescription as a “natural” product.

It’s a cruel joke.

The FDA says?

  • True Man or Energy Max products are promoted and sold as dietary supplements in the United States.
  • They are promoted for sexual enhancement and as treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED; impotence).

Both products contain either sildenafil (Viagra) or vardenafil (Levitra) — prescription drugs. These drugs are not approved to be used in True Man and Energy Max. The risk is that these ingredients can interact with nitrates such as prescription nitroglycerin and cause a dangerous lowering in blood pressure.

Consumers should discontinue using these products and consult their healthcare professional about ED treatments that are safe for them.

The bottom line?
Somebody has to monitor this industry. If not the FDA, then who?
